Bora Care Treatment

What insects does it protect against?

Whether you are building a new home or doing a renovation, Bora-Care Termiticide provides long-term protection that kills and prevents termites, carpenter ants, wood-boring beetles, and decaying fungi. Because the active ingredient is a natural mineral salt, it does not break down over time. Bora-Care has a patented glycol base, which allows it to penetrate deep into unfinished wood, and it will remain there for the lifespan of the wood, meaning there is continued residual protection.

How it Works

When wood is treated with Bora-Care, insects are no longer able to extract nutrients from the wood. Subterranean termites won’t eat the treated wood or attempt to build a termite shelter tube on the treated wood, because they will die when coming into contact with the Bora-Care. When the Bora-Care is detected by the termites, the colony is alerted to the danger and the tunnel is abandoned.

Where is it applied?

It is applied to the unfinished wood studs during the framing-in process of a construction project and to the sill beams, joist ends and sub-floor directly above the foundation walls. Bora-Care can also be applied to concrete, block, brick, metals, and PVC plumbing, therefore, providing protection from termites forming shelter tubes on these surfaces. All locations where Bora-Care is applied must be finished after treatment is completed.
